I told my wife I wanted the Technic 911 GT3. She gave me one of those looks and said, "but where are you going to put it?!"
Our home really didn't have the shelf space for such a large model, so in the spur of the moment I told her I was going to mount it on the wall. Problem solved, right?
Except it wasn't problem solved. I discovered the only available solution to hang sets on walls wasn't one I was going to entrust such a valuable model to. And so, I needed to find a solution.
I fired up CAD, and leaning on my experience working on lifting equipment for cranes I started to put something together. A few long nights with some verniers, test fits and refinement, we finally had a way to hang that 911.
To this day we follow same processes I learnt when making lifting equipment, to make sure that the Lego that goes on the wall, stays on the wall.
